Fire at boarded-up Manchester apartment under investigation

MANCHESTER — The Manchester Fire Department put out a fire at a boarded-up apartment building early Sunday morning.

First responders encountered a working fire with flames on the first and second floors of the 436 Mammoth Rd. building around 1 a.m. They aggressively attacked the interior to extinguished the fire, officials said.

No injuries resulted from the incident as the building was unoccupied.

The building sustained smoke and water damage.

Due to security reasons, the building had restricted access, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
