Pease approves lease for construction of new helicopter facility
PORTSMOUTH — The Pease Development Authority's Board of Directors has approved a lease with Seacoast Helicopters to allow them to build their own new facility.
Seacoastonline reports that the board voted in favor on Thursday to allow Seacoast Helicopters to build a 9,600 square-foot-facility on land off of 53 Exeter Street. The facility will house it's offices, flight school and aircraft.
They also plan to build a road at their own expense from Exeter Street to the 2.65 acre parcel, which is located next to Hangar 229.
The project is estimated to cost roughly $1.7 million as the company plans to hire 20 more employees in the next 3 or 4 years.
